Our guitar maintenance services

Our location in Almere is specialised in all kinds of maintenance and repairs for classical guitars. This includes repairing braces, neck breaks, restoring fingerboards and carrying out all necessary fretwork. Because the costs of these types of repairs can vary, we don’t list fixed prices on the website. Rest assured, as our Almere-based luthier repairs classical guitars out of passion. Therefore, we only ask for a small fee based on the material costs as well as a small contribution towards cost of the equipment used.

Do you have a question for Harry or would you like to schedule a repair? Feel free to reach out via the contact form.

Meet Harry Renes, the luthier behind Gitaar Afstellen Almere.

Meet Harry from
Gitaar Afstellen Almere

I have been playing classical guitar since I was sixteen. It has been, believe it or not, more than 50 years. About twelve years ago I became fascinated with classical guitars built by luthiers such as Kohno, Ramirez, Hauser and Romanillos. Each of them magnificent instruments, but far too expensive to purchase. That’s when the idea arose to start building them myself.

I bought books and construction plans and spent countless hours researching online. My first build was quite a challenge, but soon after I started building my second guitar. To uncover the secret of the perfect guitar, you have to build many. I then decided to build guitars for people interested in hand-crafted instruments, without charging for my labour. I only ask for a small contribution for the price of the wood and the cost of the equipment used. I have now built more than fifty guitars. You can follow the building processes on my Instagram.

Can I help you with repairing your classical guitar, or are you interested in a custom-built instrument? Feel free to contact me via the contact form.
