No matter where in the country you live, we’re here to help you with professional guitar and bass setups, maintenance, repairs, restorations and modifications. At the moment we have nine locations: Amsterdam, Boxtel, Ewijk, Groningen, Heerenveen, Heino, Leeuwarden, Rotterdam and Utrecht.

At Gitaar Afstellen Nederland every guitar is carefully set up to suit your playing style and preferences. Everything is customised according to your taste – from the truss rod in the neck to setting the pickup height and checking the electronics. Let us know what kind of music you play, who your guitar heroes are, what tunings you use and which strings you prefer. We’ll deliver the perfect setup – tailored to you and your instrument.

Wood is a living material that constantly changes in response to temperature and humidity. A constant temperature between 18°C and 22°C and humidity levels around 50% are optimal for your instrument. If maintaining these conditions isn’t possible, we recommend having your instrument set up at least once a year.

Are you playing frequently, switching string gauges, or do you notice that your guitar feels heavier to play than before? In that case, a professional setup by a luthier from Gitaar Afstellen Nederland is the quickest way to get your instrument playing as it should again.

You can easily fix small things yourself, such as restringing your guitar, cleaning the body and conditioning the fretboard. A full setup, however, is a bit more complex. Using specialised tools, we carefully adjust the truss rod and string action and ensure perfect intonation. Furthermore, checking the electronics requires certain measurement tools. A complete setup costs €75,- and includes changing the strings, setting the action, pickup height and truss rod, intonating the bridge saddles, checking and if needed cleaning the electronics and potentiometers, cleaning and conditioning the fretboard, cleaning and polishing the frets and cleaning the body. When collecting your instrument, you can pay via an online payment link. Cash payment is also possible. If you require a VAT invoice, please let us know and we will send it to you by e-mail.

At Gitaar Afstellen Nederland we don’t work with waiting lists, so you can book your appointment right away. In most cases, your instrument is ready within 1 to 2 working days. Need it sooner? No worries, choose our same-day service for a €25,- surcharge and we’ll make sure your guitar is ready that very day!

Currently we’re active in Amsterdam, Boxtel, Ewijk, Groningen, Heerenveen, Heino, Leeuwarden, Rotterdam and Utrecht. We’re working hard to expand to other cities too. Each of our locations sets its own working hours, but don’t worry – our luthiers are flexible. Just let us know your preferred time in the booking form and we’ll find a day and time that works for you.
